If you are unable to get your replacement Freeview remote control to respond to your FreeView receiver,  please check that you have not pressed the TV button on the remote control and set the Freeview remote into TV mode.

For example, on the Thomson DTi1000 compatible remote control (IRC83080) there are 2 buttons on the top left hand corner of the remote. One is marked STB, the other is marked TV. Make sure you press the STB button before attempting to use the remote control with your FreeView receiver. Once this button has been pressed, the remote control will remain in this mode until you choose to press the TV button again.

If your FreeView box still does not respond, it may simply have locked up.  This is quite a common problem and can be easily resolved.  Simply unplug the box from the power supply for a minute and re-connect. It will now take a minute or two to re-boot but should now work normally.
